Mark Knopfler (born August 12 1949 [age 74]) is an British musician who founded Dire Straits. Knopfler also has a solo Carrer and has released many solo albums. Knopfler founded Dire Straits with his brother David in 1977. Knopfler was the lead singer in the band and he played guitar. In 2018 when the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Knopfler and his brother David did not show up.
